About Fishers Landing Real Estate
The small community of Fisher's Landing makes up an area of suburbs, businesses, and Columbia River beachfront in Vancouver, Washington. It is located directly across from Government Island, about 2 miles upriver of the Interstate 205 Bridge and Vancouver Trout Hatchery, and 3 miles downriver of Lady Island and Camas, Washington.
Founded by Solomon Fisher in 1851, Fisher's Landing was a steamboat landing between the late 1800s and the late 1960s, and was also the Washington end of a ferry which went across to Government Island. Today there is a small community park and beach, but not much is left of the old ferry landing. Throughout the years the community of Fisher's Landing has also been known as "Fishers", "Fishers Wharf", and even at one time "Pumpkin Center".
The peaceful community features well kept neighborhoods, parks and tree-lined streets, as well as good schools and numerous opportunities for employment, shopping, dining and recreation.
